For the last 50 years the Smith College Club of Baltimore has held a used book sale to provide scholarships for young women in the Baltimore area to attend Smith College. The sale has grown each year and now drawing thousands for the three-day event, from serious book collectors to deal-savvy literature lovers. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the sale a new identity was commissioned. Inspiration was drawn from the old hand-lettered signage lovingly crafted by the organizer's late husband, as well as the vast variety of book types offered at the sale.
